Product description
Product Description
Advazorb Silfix and Advazorb Silfix Lite combine the excellent fluid handling capabilities of Advazorb with a layer of atraumatic soft silicone adhesive.
The soft silicone ensures that the dressing does not stick to the wet surface of a wound bed or cause trauma to delicate new tissue upon dressing removal. This is particularly suited to those animals with friable or delicate skin. -
Use
Use
Remove clear liners and apply pink side up to the wound ensuring the dressing covers the entire wound area and a minimum overlap of 2cm around the edges of the wound. Secure in place with tape, appropriate bandage or secondary dressing.

Top tip
The silicone layer on Advazorb Silfix enables the dressing to be placed onto the animal whilst a secondary dressing or bandage is applied for retention. This allows the dressing to be applied by a single health care professional. -
Indications
Indications

Literature

Clinical evidence
- Is Advazorb Border shower proof?
- The backing is waterproof. However due to the hydrophobic nature of silicone if water does come between the skin and the contact layer then adherence will be lost. In an average shower it is showerproof, however in a power shower or for a longer period than normal it may not be.
- Is there strike through?
- No. The backing is waterproof, low friction and prevents strike through.
- Which direction does it wick?
- Wicking is vertical and lateral, ensuring maximum use of all the foam in the dressing.
- Why would I use Advazorb Border instead of Advazorb Silfix?
- Advazorb Silfix is ideal for wounds with fragile skin that require a degree of compression/ secondary fixation. Advazorb Border is ideal for hard to dress wounds where secondary fixation isn't possible/ required.
